I protest, brethren, by my pride in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die every day.
I have great confidence in you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. With all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.
For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at his coming?
Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you are enduring.

But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me. I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of my ground for boasting.
As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.
What I am saying I am not saying as the Lord would, but as a fool, in this confidence of boasting. Since many boast according to the flesh, I too will boast.
For even if I boast somewhat further about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for destroying you, I shall not be put to shame.
But we will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has apportioned to us, a field that reaches even to you.
We do not go beyond limits by boasting in other men's labors, but our hope is that as your faith grows, our sphere among you may be greatly enlarged,
I must go on boasting, though there is nothing to be gained by it; but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
