and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

Marvel not at this; because there is an hour coming, in which all who are in their tombs shall hear His voice, and come forth; those who did good, to the resurrection of life; but those who practiced evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged, every one, according to their works.

inasmuch as He appointed a day in which He intendeth to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness, by a Man Whom He appointed, having given assurance to all by raising Him from the dead."

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Now if Christ is preached, that He hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead.

And some of the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, coming near, asked Him,

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees acknowledge both.

who erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and are overthrowing the faith of some.

And some also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were encountering him. And some said, "What would this babbler wish to say?" And others said, He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods;" because he proclaimed the good tidings of Jesus and the resurrection.

Why is it judged incredible with you, if God doth raise the dead?

But Jesus, answering, said to them, "Ye deceive yourselves, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God; for in the resurrection, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in Heaven. "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, did ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,read more.
'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

Jesus said to them, "Is it not on this account that ye err, because ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God? For, when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels in Heaven. But, concerning the dead, that they are raised, did ye not read in the book of Moses, at the 'Bush,' how God spake to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?'read more.
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err."

And Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage; but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for neither can they die any more; for they are equal to the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.read more.
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the 'Bush,' when he calls the Lord 'The God of Abraham the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' Now He is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him."

But some one will say, "How are the dead raised? and with what kind of body do they come?" Foolish one! that which you sow is not made alive, except it die; and that which you sow, you sow not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may be of wheat, or of some other kind;read more.
but God giveth it a body, even as He willed, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh; but there is, indeed, one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial; but the glory of the celestial is one, and that of the terrestrial another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
