because that which is known of God is manifested in them; for God manifested it to them. For His invisible things, since the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being perceived by the things that are made, even His everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:
and yet He left not Himself without witness, doing good, giving you rains from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness."
because the words which Thou gavest Me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew truly that I came forth from Thee, and believed that Thou didst send Me.
If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; because this is the testimony of God, that He hath testified concerning His Son. He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he has not believed in the testimony that God testified concerning His Son.
wherein God, more abundantly willing to show to the heirs of the promise the immutability of His counsel, interposed with an oath;
being, therefore, a prophet, and knowing that with an oath God swore to him, that out of the fruit of his loins One should sit on his throne;
(for they, indeed, have been made priests without an oath; but He with an oath through Him Who said to Him, "The Lord swore, and will not repent, Thou art a Priest forever");
but, in view of the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but was made strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.
Let your disposition be without fondness for money; content with the present things; for He Himself hath said, "I will in nowise leave you, neither will I in any wise forsake you."
Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him.
Hearken, my beloved brethren, did not God choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to those who love Him?

the blind receive sight, and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor have the Gospel proclaimed to them. And happy is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in Me."
And the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things. And, calling to him two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, "Art Thou the Coming One, or are we to expect another?" And, coming near to Him, the men said, "John, the Immerser, sent us to Thee, saying, 'Art Thou the Coming One, or are we to expect another?'"read more.
In that hour He cured many of diseases, and plagues, and evil spirits; and to many blind He bestowed sight. And, answering, He said to them, "Going your way, announce to John what ye saw and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the Gospel proclaimed to them. And happy is he, whosoever shall find no cause of stumbling in Me."
but, if I do them, even though ye believe not Me, believe the works; that ye may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."
Believe Me, that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; or, else, believe Me because of the works themselves.
Many other signs, therefore, did Jesus in the presence of the disciples, which have not been written in this book; but these have been written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that, believing, ye may have life in His name.
God testifying with them, both with signs and wonders and manifold miracles, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to His will?
And these signs shall accompany those having believed: in My name will they cast out demons: they will speak with tongues; they will take up serpents; and, if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Ye are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being made manifest that ye are Christ's epistle ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
because our Gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we became toward you, for your sake.
The Spirit Himself testifieth with our spirit, that we are children of God;
In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.
