And when he had spent everything, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in want.
And he said to them, "When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" They said, "Nothing."
And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.
Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
