The following are the names of the twelve apostles (ambassadors of the good news) (messengers): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
He called his twelve disciples. He gave them power to cast out unclean spirits and to heal all kinds of disease and sickness.

He took the twelve to Jerusalem so that the Son of man will accomplish all the things that are written through the prophets:
He entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. When evening came he went with the twelve to Bethany.'
Jesus and the twelve apostles traveled through cities and villages preaching the good news of the kingdom of God.
As the day wore on the twelve came to him and said: Send the people away, that they may go into the villages and country nearby to find lodging and get food, for we are here in a lonely place.
The twelve called the congregation of the disciples to them. They said: It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God and serve tables.
