And seeing one fig-tree in the way, he came to it and found on it nothing but leaves only. And he says to it, Let there be never more fruit of thee for ever. And the fig-tree was immediately dried up.

And answering he said to it, Let no one eat fruit of thee any more for ever. And his disciples heard it.

It shall be complete before his day, and his branch shall not be green. He shall shake off his unripe grapes as a vine, and shall cast his flower as an olive.

Say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither? All its fresh sprouting leaves shall wither, even without a great arm and many people to pluck it up by its roots.
