And she had said to the servant, Who is the man that is walking in the fields to meet us? And the servant said, That is my master! Then she took the veil, and covered herself.

Every man praying or prophesying, having anything on his head, puts his head to shame.

But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered puts her own head to shame; for it is one and the same as a shaved woman. For if a woman be not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if it be shameful to a woman to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, let her be covered.

For man indeed ought not to have his head covered, being God's image and glory; but woman is man's glory.

Is not +God in the height of the heavens? And behold the summit of the stars: how exalted are they! And thou sayest, What doth God know? will he judge through the dark cloud? Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh on the vault of the heavens.

He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see it.

And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard it.

Woe unto them that hide deep, far from Jehovah, their counsel! And their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, and countest me for thine enemy?

And hide not thy face from thy servant, for I am in trouble: answer me speedily.

Why, O Jehovah, castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?

For he looketh to the ends of the earth, he seeth under the whole heaven.

And she called the name of Jehovah who spoke to her, Thou art the God who reveals himself, for she said, Also here have I seen after he has revealed himself.

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.

Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:

{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my down-sitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off; Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways;

So that do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord shall come, who shall also both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and shall make manifest the counsels of hearts; and then shall each have his praise from God.

He bindeth the streams that they drip not, and what is hidden he bringeth forth to light.

For behold, Jehovah cometh out of his place to visit the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth upon them; and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Fear them not therefore; for there is nothing covered which shall not be revealed, and secret which shall not be known.

but there is nothing covered up which shall not be revealed, nor secret that shall not be known;

the work of each shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire shall try the work of each what it is.

and not according as Moses put a veil on his own face, so that the children of Israel should not fix their eyes on the end of that annulled.

And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai and the two tables of testimony were in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mountain that Moses knew not that the skin of his face shone through his talking with him. And Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come near him. And Moses called to them; and they turned to him, Aaron and all the principal men of the assembly; and Moses talked with them.read more.
And afterwards, all the children of Israel came near; and he gave them in commandment all that Jehovah had spoken with him on mount Sinai. And Moses ended speaking with them; and he had put on his face a veil. And when Moses went in before Jehovah to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel what he was commanded. And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone; and Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

But their thoughts have been darkened, for unto this day the same veil remains in reading the old covenant, unremoved, which in Christ is annulled. But unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil lies upon their heart.

They have no knowledge, and understand not; for he hath plastered their eyes, that they may not see; and their hearts, that they may not understand.

give them obduracy of heart, thy curse unto them;

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him; and he cannot know them because they are spiritually discerned;

But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost;

being darkened in understanding, estranged from the life of God by reason of the ignorance which is in them, by reason of the hardness of their hearts,

But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, that hidden wisdom which God had predetermined before the ages for our glory: which none of the princes of this age knew, (for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;) but according as it is written, Things which eye has not seen, and ear not heard, and which have not come into man's heart, which God has prepared for them that love him,read more.
but God has revealed to us by his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but has now been made manifest to his saints;

Never have men heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor hath eye seen a God beside thee, who acteth for him that waiteth for him.

Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my glad tidings and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, as to which silence has been kept in the times of the ages, but which has now been made manifest, and by prophetic scriptures, according to commandment of the eternal God, made known for obedience of faith to all the nations --

But when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away.) Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Lord the Spirit.

having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself

that by revelation the mystery has been made known to me, (according as I have written before briefly, by which, in reading it, ye can understand my intelligence in the mystery of the Christ,) which in other generations has not been made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the power of the Spirit,read more.
that they who are of the nations should be joint heirs, and a joint body, and joint partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus by the glad tidings;

but has been made manifest now by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has annulled death, and brought to light life and incorruptibility by the glad tidings;

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season his word, in the proclamation with which I have been entrusted, according to the commandment of our Saviour God;

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame, to everlasting contempt. And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the expanse; and they that turn the many to righteousness as the stars, for ever and ever. And thou, Daniel, close the words, and seal the book, till the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the veil which veileth all the peoples, and the covering that is spread over all the nations. He will swallow up death in victory. And the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken.

For the anxious looking out of the creature expects the revelation of the sons of God:

Beloved, now are we children of God, and what we shall be has not yet been manifested; we know that if it is manifested we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
