'Comfort' in the Bible
Then all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. And he said, “Surely I will go down to Sheol in mourning for my son.” So his father wept for him.
Their father Ephraim mourned many days, and his relatives came to comfort him.
Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, they came each one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him.
“If I say, ‘My bed will comfort me,My couch will ease my complaint,’
“How then will you vainly comfort me,For your answers remain full of falsehood?”

Men will not break bread in mourning for them, to comfort anyone for the dead, nor give them a cup of consolation to drink for anyone’s father or mother.
