Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
You will know that your tent is secure,and nothing will be missing when you inspect your home.
since we were born only yesterday and know nothing.Our days on earth are but a shadow.
Nothing he owned remains in his tent.Burning sulfur is scattered over his home.
Nothing is left for him to consume;therefore, his prosperity will not last.
He stretches the northern skies over empty space;He hangs the earth on nothing.
His flesh wastes away to nothing,and his unseen bones stick out.
For he has said, “A man gains nothingwhen he becomes God’s friend.”
He laughs at fear, since he is afraid of nothing;he does not run from the sword.
I have spoken once, and I will not reply;twice, but now I can add nothing.
