'Wind' in the Bible

They consult their wooden idols, and their diviner's staff answers with an oracle. The wind of prostitution blows them astray; they commit spiritual adultery against their God.

They sow the wind, and so they will reap the whirlwind! The stalk does not have any standing grain; it will not produce any flour. Even if it were to yield grain, foreigners would swallow it all up.

Ephraim continually feeds on the wind; he chases the east wind all day; he multiplies lies and violence. They make treaties with Assyria, and send olive oil as tribute to Egypt.

Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it.

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"

They were overwhelmed by fear and said to one another, "Who then is this? Even the wind and sea obey him!"

He saw them straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. As the night was ending, he came to them walking on the sea, for he wanted to pass by them.

and the stars in the sky fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when shaken by a fierce wind.

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so no wind could blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
