1 All Israel was registered in the genealogies that are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. But Judah was exiled(A) to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
1 So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And (A)Judah was carried away into exile to Babylon for their unfaithfulness.
1 So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
1 All of Israel was enumerated by genealogy and recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel as Judah was being taken captive into exile to Babylon due to their disobedience.
1 So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away into exile to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness [to God].
2 The first(B) to live in their towns on their own property again were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.(C)
2 (B)Now the first who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites and (C)the (a)temple servants.
2 Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.
2 The first to settle on their own property in their own towns of Israel were priests, descendants of Levi, and the Temple Servants.

3 These people from the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh settled in Jerusalem:

8 Jeroham's son Ibneiah, Uzzi's son Elah, who was also Michri's grandson, and Shephatiah's son Meshullam, who was the grandson of Reuel and great-grandson of Ibnijah,
8 Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9 and 956(D) of their relatives according to their genealogical records. All these men were heads of their ancestral houses.

9 And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.

11 And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
11 and Hilkiah's son Azariah, who was fathered by Meshullam, who was fathered by Zadok, who was fathered by Meraioth, who was fathered by Ahitub, the Chief Operating Officer of the Temple of God.

12 and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13 and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of households. They were capable men employed in the ministry of God’s temple.

16 Obadiah son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun;and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.
16 and (e)Obadiah the son of (f)Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.
16 And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
16 and Shemaiah's son Obadiah, who was the grandson of Galal, who was fathered by Jeduthun, and Asa's son Berechiah, who was the grandson of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

17 Now the gatekeepers were (g)Shallum and Akkub and Talmon and Ahiman and their relatives (Shallum the chief
17 And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;

18 Who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
18 He used to be stationed in the King's Gate on the east side as one of the gatekeepers of the camp belonging to the descendants of Levi.
18 who until now was assigned to the king’s gate on the east side) they were the gatekeepers for the camp of the Levites.
19 Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his relatives from his ancestral household, the Korahites, were assigned to guard the thresholds of the tent.(b) Their ancestors had been assigned to the Lord’s camp as guardians of the entrance.(I)
19 Shallum the son of Kore, the son of (h)Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent; and their fathers had been over the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.
19 And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.
19 Kore's son Shallum, who was the grandson of Ebiasaph and the great-grandson of Korah, and the descendants of Korah (who were relatives of his ancestral house) were over the service responsibilities and served as guardians of the entrances of the Tent, just as their ancestors had been in charge of the camp of the LORD and guardians of the entrance.
19 Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, doorkeepers of the Tent; and their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.
22 The total number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them(L) to their trusted positions.
22 All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by genealogy in their villages, (M)whom David and Samuel the seer appointed (N)in their office of trust.
22 All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.
22 All these, who had been set apart as gatekeepers at the entrances, numbered 212 and had been enrolled by genealogies in their villages.
22 All those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212. They were enrolled by their genealogies in their villages [around Jerusalem], these men [whose grandfathers] David and Samuel the seer had appointed to their official duty.
23 So they and their sons were assigned to the gates of the Lord’s temple, which had been the tent-temple.

23 So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
23 David and Samuel the seer installed them in their positions of trust, so they and their descendants were in charge of the gates of the house of the LORD, that is, the House of the Tent, as guardians.

24 The gatekeepers were on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.
24 In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

25 Their relatives in their villages (O)were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with (k)them;

27 And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
27 They spent the night near the Temple of God, since they had been entrusted to guard it. They were in charge of opening it every morning.

28 Some of them were in charge of the utensils used in worship. They would count them when they brought them in and when they took them out.

28 And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.
28 Some were responsible for the service utensils, and they were required to take an inventory of them when they were brought in and out.

29 Others were put in charge of the furnishings and all the utensils of the sanctuary,(Q) as well as the fine flour,(R) wine, oil, incense, and spices.
29 Some of them also were appointed over the furniture and over all the utensils of the sanctuary and (Q)over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices.
29 Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
29 Others were responsible for the furniture and for all of the holy utensils, including the flour, wine, oil, incense, and spices.

31 A Levite called Mattithiah, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.(c)
31 Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had (S)the (p)responsibility over the things which were baked in pans.
31 And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.

33 The singers,(U) the heads of the Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other tasks because they were on duty day and night.(V)
33 Now these are (U)the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the chambers of the temple free from other service; for they were (q)engaged (V)in their work day and night.
33 And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.

36 His firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

38 Mikloth fathered Shimeam. These also lived opposite their relatives in Jerusalem with their other relatives.
38 Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. And they also lived with their relatives in Jerusalem opposite their other relatives.
38 And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
38 Mikloth fathered Shimeam. They lived across town from their relatives in Jerusalem.
38 Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their relatives in Jerusalem, opposite their other relatives.
39 Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, and Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
39 (X)Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab and Eshbaal.
39 And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
39 Ner fathered Kish, Kish fathered Saul, and Saul fathered Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
39 Ner became the father of Kish, and Kish became the father of [King] Saul, and Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
40 Jonathan’s son was Merib-baal, and Merib-baal fathered Micah.
40 The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal; and Merib-baal became the father of Micah.
40 And the son of Jonathan was Meribbaal: and Meribbaal begat Micah.
40 Jonathan fathered Merib-baal, and Merib-baal fathered Micah.

42 Ahaz fathered Jarah;Jarah fathered Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri;Zimri fathered Moza.

43 Moza fathered Binea.His son was Rephaiah, his son Elasah, and his son Azel.
