For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Since there is one
bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread.
just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,
which is His
body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
He is also
head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
and not holding fast to
the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Now you are
Christ’s body, and individually members of it.
Now the promises were spoken
to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “ And to your seed,” that is, Christ.
