1 Corinthians 9:7
Who at any time serves
as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat the fruit of it? Or who tends a flock and does not use the milk of the flock?
or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support.
Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house.
The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.
1 Thessalonians 2:6
nor did we
seek glory from men, either from you or from others, even though as apostles of Christ we might have asserted our authority.

The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

it is his food.
