Then the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and spoke these words in the hearing of the people, and all the people lifted up their voices and wept.

When the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people lifted up their voices and wept.

Saul also went to his house at Gibeah; and the valiant men whose hearts God had touched went with him.

So the people came to Bethel and sat there before God until evening, and lifted up their voices and wept bitterly.

Then Samuel went to Ramah, but Saul went up to his house at Gibeah of Saul.

Then David and the people who were with him lifted their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.

Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree which is in Migron. And the people who were with him were about six hundred men,

let seven men from his sons be given to us, and we will hang them before the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the Lord.” And the king said, “I will give them.”

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
