³¹ For as long as the son of Jesse lieth upon the earth, thou shalt not be established, nor yet thy kingdom; wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he is the child of death." ³² But Jonathan answered Saul his father and said to him, "Wherefore should he die? What hath he done?" ³³ Then Saul cast a spear at him to hit him, whereby Jonathan wist well, that it was utterly determined of his father to slay David.
