And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
1 Samuel 29:11
So David arose early, he and his men, to depart in the morning to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.
2 Samuel 1:2
On the third day, behold,
a man came out of the camp from Saul, with his clothes torn and dust on his head. And it came about when he came to David that he fell to the ground and prostrated himself.

Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
Amalek came and fought against Israel at Rephidim.
Then they burned all their cities where they lived and all their camps with fire.

Now then arise early in the morning
with the servants of your lord who have come with you, and as soon as you have arisen early in the morning and have light, depart.”
