So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
Listen and give heed, do not be haughty,

I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;

Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need;
We proclaim Him,
admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.
Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?
