"Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife home, for what is begotten in her is by the Holy Spirit; and she will bear a son, and you are to call him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.

But when the fulness of time was come God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law,

In faith

Now the end of the exhortation is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and an undissembled faith.

Sobriety

in like manner also the women. I desire women to clothe themselves in suitable apparel, adorning themselves with reverence and self-restraint; not with hair plaited with gold or pearls, or with expensive clothes,

And schooling us to renounce impiety and evil passions, And to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

But the end of all things is close at hand; so be sober, watch and pray.
