Hezekiah Cleanses The Temple

⁷ The doors of his house have been shut and the lights put out; no perfumes have been burned or offerings made to the God of Israel in his holy place. ⁸ And so the wrath of the Lord has come on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has given them up to be a cause of fear and wonder and shame, as your eyes have seen. ⁹ For see, our fathers have been put to death with the sword, and our sons and daughters and wives have been taken away prisoners because of this.

Jeremiah 25:9

See, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, my servant, and make them come against this land, and against its people, and against all these nations on every side; and I will give them up to complete destruction, and make them a cause of fear and surprise and a waste place for ever.

Jeremiah 25:18

Jerusalem and the towns of Judah and their kings and their princes, to make them a waste place, a cause of fear and surprise and a curse, as it is this day;

Deuteronomy 28:25
