The Decline Of Judah
1 And the people of the land will take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and make him king instead of his father in Jerusalem.

3 And the king of Egypt will remove him in Jerusalem, and he will amerce the land a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

Jehoiakim's Reign
5 The son of twenty and five years was Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years reigned he in Jerusalem: and he will do evil in the eyes of Jehovah his God.

Jehoiachin's Reign
9 The son of eight years was Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days reigned he in Jerusalem: and he will do the evil in the eyes of Jehovah.
9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.

10 And at the return of the year king Nebuchadnezzar sent and he will bring him to Babel, with the vessels of desire of the house of Jehovah, and he will make Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
10 And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
10 (J)At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon with the valuable articles of the house of the Lord, and he made his kinsman (K)Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

Zedekiah's Reign
11 The son of twenty and one years was Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years reigned he in Jerusalem.

13 And also he rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar who caused him to swear by God: and he will harden his neck and strengthen his heart from turning back to Jehovah the God of Israel.
13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

13 Zedekiah rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear allegiance in the name of God. Instead, he stiffened his resolve, and hardened his heart, and would not return to the LORD God of Israel.
14 Also all the chiefs of the priests and the people multiplied to Transgress transgression according to all the abominations of the nations; and they will defile the house of Jehovah which he consecrated in Jerusalem.
14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
14 Furthermore, all the officials of the priests and the people were very unfaithful following all the abominations of the nations; and they defiled the house of the Lord which He had sanctified in Jerusalem.
14 All the leaders of the priests and the people multiplied their unfaithful deeds, imitating all the detestable practices of the nations, and they defiled the Lord’s temple that He had consecrated in Jerusalem.
14 Meanwhile, all the officials who supervised the priests and the people remained unfaithful, following the detestable example of the surrounding nations. They polluted the LORD's Temple that he had consecrated in Jerusalem.
The Babylonians Destroy Jerusalem
15 And Jehovah the God of their fathers will send to them by the hand of his messengers, rising early and sending; for he compassionated upon his people, and upon his dwelling:

16 For they will be mocking upon the messengers of God, and despising his words, and scoffing at his prophets, even to the bringing up the wrath of Jehovah against his people, even to no healing.
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

The Destruction Of Jerusalem
17 And he will bring against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he will kill their chosen with the sword in the house of the holy place, and he pitied not over young man and virgin, old man and the gray-headed: he gave all into his hand.
17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.

18 And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and his chiefs, he brought the whole to Babel.

19 And they will burn the house of God and break down the walls of Jerusalem, and burn all her palaces in fire, and all her precious vessels for destruction.

19 Then the Chaldeans burned God’s temple.(V) They tore down Jerusalem’s wall, burned down all its palaces, and destroyed all its valuable articles.

20 And the remainder from the sword he will carry away captive to Babel; and they will be to him and to his sons for servants, even to the reigning of the kingdom of Persia:
20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:

20 Nebuchadnezzar carried off to Babylon those who survived the executions, and they served him and his descendants until the kingdom of Persia came to power.
21 To fill up the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land delighted in her Sabbaths: all the days she was laid waste she rested, to complete seventy years.
21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

21 All of this fulfilled what the LORD had predicted through Jeremiah. And so the land enjoyed its Sabbaths, and the length of the land's desolation lasted until a 70-year long Sabbath had been completed.
The Decree Of Cyrus
22 And in the year one to Cyrus king of Persia, to complete the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah, Jehovah roused up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he will cause a voice to pass in all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,
22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
22 (AD)Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia—in order to fulfill the word of the Lord (AE)by the mouth of Jeremiah—the Lord (AF)stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,
22 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia,(Z) the word of the Lord spoken through(j) Jeremiah(AA) was fulfilled. The Lord put it into the mind of King Cyrus(AB) of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom and also to put it in writing:
22 During the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, in fulfillment of the message from the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD prompted Cyrus, king of Persia, to make this proclamation throughout his entire kingdom, which was also released in written form:
23 Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth gave Jehovah the God of the heavens to me; and he charged upon me to build to him a house in Jerusalem which is in Judah. Who among you from all his people? Jehovah his God be with him, and he shall go up.
23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
23 “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!’”
23 This is what King Cyrus of Persia says: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to build Him a temple at Jerusalem in Judah. Whoever among you of His people may go up, and may the Lord his God be with him.
23 AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM CYRUS, KING OF PERSIA All of the kingdoms of the earth have been given to me by the LORD God of Heaven, and he specifically charged me to build a temple for him in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Therefore, who among the LORD's people trusts in his God? Whoever among this group wishes to do so may travel to Jerusalem.
