²³ then hear thou from heaven, and work and judge thy servants, that thou reward the evil and bring his way upon his head, and justify the righteous and give him according to his righteousness. ²⁴ Likewise, if thy people Israel be put to the worse before their enemies, because they have sinned against thee; Yet if they turn and confess thy name, and make intercession and pray before thee in this house; ²⁵ Then hear thou from heaven and be merciful unto the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
