That night God appeared to Solomon. He said: What do you want me to I give you?

Abram was ninety-nine years old. Jehovah appeared to him and said: I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless.

Jehovah came to him again in a vision just as he had done at Gibeon.

Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: 'This is what Jehovah God of your ancestor David says: I heard your prayer. I saw your tears. Now I will heal you. The day after tomorrow you will go to Jehovah's Temple.

You have heard the desire of humble people, O Jehovah. You encourage them. You incline your ear (pay close attention) to them.

But God has heard me. He paid attention to my prayer.

Have no fear Zechariah, said the angel, for God has heard your prayer. Your wife Elisabeth will have a son and his name will be John.

He said, 'Cornelius, your prayer is heard and your gifts of mercy are noticed in the sight of God.

This is the confidence that we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

I have chosen and declared this Temple holy so that my name may be placed there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

You should seek Jehovah at the place Jehovah your God chooses out of all your tribes. This is where he will dwell and establish his name. This is where you should go.

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion he loved.

Jehovah has chosen Zion. He wants it for his home.

Then Elijah said to Elisha: Stay here for Jehovah has ordered me to go to the Jordan River. But Elisha answered: I swear by my loyalty to the living God Jehovah and to you that I will not leave you. So they went on,

There you shall bring your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, and the contribution of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock.
