indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
“Then I will also confess to you, That your own right hand can save you.
All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep his soul alive.
Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.
He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered.
Thus says the Lord, “ Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;
Thus says the Lord, “ Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.

(as it is written, “ A father of many nations have I made you”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.
Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “ I believed, therefore I spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak,
Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself!
He considered that God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him back as a type.
