“I also pleaded with the Lord at that time, saying,
1 Samuel 15:11
I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me and has not carried out My commands.” And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the Lord all night.
2 Samuel 12:16
David therefore inquired of God for the child; and David
fasted and went and lay all night on the ground.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness;
refused to be comforted.
And He said to her,
“What do you wish?” She *said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.”
And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying,
“My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”
In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.
