Ahaz Reigns In Judah And Seeks Help Against The Assyrians

1 In the year the seventeenth to Pekah son of Remaliah, reigned Ahaz son of Jotham king of Judah. 2 The son of twenty years was Ahaz in his reigning, and sixteen years he reigned in Jerusalem; and he did not the straight in the eyes of Jehovah his God as David his father. 3 And he went in the way of the kings of Israel, and also he caused his son to pass through in fire, according to the abominations of the nations which Jehovah dispossessed them from the face of the sons of Israel.
