Absalom Dies In Battle

¹⁶ Then Joab blew with a horn, and the people returned from pursuing Israel, - for Joab had restrained the people. ¹⁷ And they took Absolom, and cast him, in the forest, into a large pit, and raised up over him a very great heap of stones, - and, all Israel, fled, every man to his home. ¹⁸ But, Absolom, had taken, and raised up for himself, in his lifetime, the pillar that is in the king's vale, for he said, I have no son, to keep in remembrance my name, so he called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absolom's monument unto this day.
