1 Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, as also with you,
1 (A)Finally, brethren, (B)pray for us that (C)the word of the Lord will (a)spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you;
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you,(A)
1 Finally, brothers, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly, and that it may be honored the way it is among you.
4 And we trust in the Lord with respect to you, that you both do and will do what we direct.
4 We have (G)confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you (H)are doing and will continue to do what we command.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
4 We have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do what we command.

6 And we charge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which you received from us.
6 Now we command you, brethren, (J)in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you (f)(K)keep away from every brother who (g)leads an (h)(L)unruly life and not according to (M)the tradition which (i)you received from us.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
6 Now we command you, brothers, in the name(E) of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother(F) who walks irresponsibly and not according to the tradition(G) received(H) from us.
6 In the name of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is living in idleness and not living according to the tradition that they received from us.
7 For you know yourselves how you ought to follow us, for we walked not disorderly among you,
7 For you yourselves know how you ought to (j)(N)follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you,
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
7 For you yourselves know what you must do to imitate us. We never lived in idleness among you.
8 neither did we eat bread of any one for nought, but worked with labor and fatigue, night and day, not to be burdensome to any of you;
8 nor did we (O)eat (k)anyone’s bread (l)without paying for it, but with (P)labor and hardship we kept (Q)working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
8 we did not eat(J) anyone’s food(b) free of charge;(K) instead, we labored(L) and struggled,(M) working(N) night and day, so that we would not be a burden(O) to any of you.
8 We did not eat anyone's food without paying for it. Instead, with toil and labor we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you.
9 not that we have not a right [to a support], but that we may make ourselves an example for you to follow us.
9 not because we do not have (R)the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves (S)as a model for you, so that you would (m)follow our example.
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
9 It is not that we don’t have the right(P) to support, but we did it to make ourselves an example to you so that you would imitate(Q) us.
9 It is not as though we did not have that right, but we wanted to give you an example to follow.
10 For when we were with you, we gave you this charge, that if any one will not work, neither let him eat.
10 For even (T)when we were with you, we used to give you this order: (U)if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
10 In fact, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you: “If anyone isn’t willing to work, he should not eat.”(R)
10 While we were with you, we gave this order: "If anyone doesn't want to work, he shouldn't eat."
11 For we hear that some go about among you in a disorderly manner, not working, but being above work;
11 For we hear that some among you are (V)leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like (W)busybodies.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
11 For we hear that there are some among you who walk irresponsibly, not working at all, but interfering with the work of others.(S)
11 We hear that some of you are living in idleness. You are not busy working you are busy interfering in other people's lives!
12 we charge and exhort such, by our Lord Jesus Christ, to work quietly, and eat their own bread.
12 Now such persons we command and (X)exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to (Y)work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
12 Now we command and exhort such people by the Lord Jesus Christ that quietly working, they may eat their own food.(c)
12 We order and encourage such people by the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.
14 But if any one obeys not our word by this epistle, mark that one, and have no association with him, that he may be ashamed;
14 If anyone does not obey our (n)instruction (o)(AB)in this letter, take special note of that person (p)(AC)and do not associate with him, so that he will be (AD)put to shame.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
