To Timothy, my beloved

son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Be

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Only be strong and very courageous;

be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go.

But now

take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares the Lord of hosts.

Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
