Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
You know the events
that took place throughout Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John preached:
For the king knows about these matters. It is to him I am actually speaking boldly. For I am convinced that none of these things escapes his notice, since this was not done in a corner.
When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent a message by his disciples
When the men reached Him, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to ask You, ‘Are You the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?’”
The one named Cleopas answered Him, “Are You the only visitor in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things that happened there in these days?”
This man came to Him at night and said, “Rabbi,
we know that You have come from God as a teacher, for no one could perform these signs You do unless God were with him.”
“But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.
When the people saw the sign
He had done, they said, “This really is the Prophet who was to come into the world!”
However, many from the crowd believed in Him and said, “When the Messiah comes, He won’t perform more signs than this man has done,
If I am not doing My Father’s works, don’t believe Me.
So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin
and said, “What are we going to do since this man does many signs?
Meanwhile, the crowd, which had been with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb
and raised him from the dead, continued to testify.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own. The Father who lives in Me does His works.
If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sin. Now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.
At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to His will.
Then Jesus went to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom,
and healing every disease and every sickness.
