Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
But during the night
an angel of the Lord opened the gates of the prison, and taking them out he said,
When the angel who was speaking to him had left, he summoned two of his
servants and a devout soldier of those who were his personal attendants,
And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and
put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he *said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.”
For this very night
an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me,
2 Kings 1:3
But the angel of the Lord said to
Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’
Are they not all
ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
in those days John the Baptist * came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
in the high priesthood of
Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.
And He said to them,
“When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.
