And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
So I turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire, and the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.
Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets which were written on both sides; they were written on one side and the other.
It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the
two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.
I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered, and you shall put them in the ark.’
put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.
Then he took
the testimony and put it into the ark, and attached the poles to the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.
Then Joshua set up twelve
stones in the middle of the Jordan at the place where the feet of the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing, and they are there to this day.
1 Kings 8:8
the poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place before the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; they are there to this day.
