Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
Now it came about after many days, when the Lord had given
rest to Israel from all their enemies on every side, and Joshua was old, advanced in years,
Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’
Then the Lord said to Moses, “
Write this in a book as a memorial and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”
You shall march around the city, all the men of war circling the city once. You shall do so for six days.
sons of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, for they have become accursed. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy the things under the ban from your midst.

After these events King Ahasuerus
promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and established his authority over all the princes who were with him.
So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king’s anger subsided.

Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
for you have not as yet come to
the resting place and the inheritance which the Lord your God is giving you.
