1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, through God's will, unto the saints who are in Ephesusand faithful in Christ Jesus, -
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
1 From: Paul, an apostle of the Messiah Jesus by God's will. To: His holy and faithful people in Ephesus who are in union with the Messiah Jesus.
2 Blessed, be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing, in the heavenlies, in Christ,
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours!
3 According as he made choice of us, in him, before the founding of a world, that we might be holy and blameless in his presence; in love,
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah! He has blessed us in the Messiah with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm,
4 marking us out beforehand unto sonship, through Jesus Christ, for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
4 just as he chose us in the Messiah before the creation of the universe to be holy and blameless in his presence. In love
5 Unto the praise of the glory of his favour wherewith he favoured us in the Beloved One, -
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
5 He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will,
5 he predestined us for adoption to himself through Jesus the Messiah, according to the pleasure of his will,
6 In whom we have the redemption through his blood, the remission of our offences, according to the riches of his favour,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
6 so that we would praise his glorious grace that he gave us in the Beloved One.
7 which he made to superabound towards us; in all wisdom and prudence,
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
7 In union with him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of God's grace
8 making known to us the sacred secret of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him, -
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
8 that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
8 that he lavished on us, along with all wisdom and understanding,
9 For an administration of the fulness of the seasons, to reunite for himself (under one head) the all things in the Christ, the things upon the heavens, and the things upon the earth, in him:
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
9 when he made known to us the secret of his will. This was according to his plan that he set forth in the Messiah
10 In whom also we were taken as an inheritance, according to the purpose of him who energiseth all things according to the counsel of his will,
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
10 to usher in the fullness of the times and to bring together in the Messiah all things in heaven and on earth.
11 That we should be for the praise of his glory - we who had hoped beforehand in the Christ, -
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
11 In the Messiah we were also chosen when we were predestined according to the purpose of the one who does everything that he wills to do,
12 In whom, ye also - hearing the word of the truth, the glad-message of your salvation, - in whom also believing, - were sealed with the Spirit of the promise, the Holy Spirit ,
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
12 so that we who had already fixed our hope on the Messiah might live for his praise and glory.
13 Which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of the acquisition; - unto his glorious praise.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
13 You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in the Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
14 For this cause, I also, - having heard of the faith on your part in the Lord Jesus, and that towards all the saints,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until God redeems his own possession for his praise and glory.
15 Cease not giving thanks in your behalf, making mention in my prayers,
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
15 This is why, since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
15 Therefore, because I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
16 That, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you a Spirit of wisdom and understanding in gaining a personal knowledge of him, -
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
16 I never stop giving thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.
16 I never stop giving thanks for you as I mention you in my prayers.
17 The eyes of your heart having been enlightened, that ye may know - what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the most glorious Father, would give you a wise spirit, along with revelation that comes through knowing the Messiah fully.
18 And what the surpassing greatness of his power unto us who believe, - according to the energy of the grasp of his might
18 I pray that (AY)the eyes of your heart (x)may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the (AZ)hope of His (BA)calling, what are (BB)the riches of the glory of (BC)His inheritance in (BD)the (y)saints,
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
18 Then, with the eyes of your hearts enlightened, you will know the confidence that is produced by God having called you, the rich glory that is his inheritance among the saints,
19 which he energised in the Christ, when he raised him from among the dead, and seated him at his right hand in the heavenlies,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
19 and the unlimited greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his mighty strength,
20 Over-above all principality, authority, and power, and lordship, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the coming one,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
20 which he brought about in the Messiah when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realm.
21 And did put, all things, in subjection beneath his feet. And gave him to be head over all things unto the assembly,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
21 He is far above every ruler, authority, power, dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in the present age, but also in the one to come.
22 Which, indeed, is his body, the fulness of him who, the all things in all, is for himself filling up.
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
22 God has put everything under the Messiah's feet and has made him the head of everything for the good of the church,
