And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them.
You, however, I
will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.
The Lord will
scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord drives you.
then the Lord your God will
restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.
‘I would have said, “ I will cut them to pieces, I will remove the memory of them from men,”
Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘
If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples;
“Israel is a
scattered flock, the lions have driven them away. The first one who devoured him was the king of Assyria, and this last one who has broken his bones is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Though I had removed them far away among the nations and though I had scattered them among the countries, yet I was a
sanctuary for them a little while in the countries where they had gone.”’

the rebellious and evil city and are finishing the walls and repairing the foundations.

When they did not find them, they began
dragging Jason and some brethren before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have upset the world have come here also;
For we have found this man a real pest and a fellow who stirs up dissension among all the Jews throughout
the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.
But we desire to hear from you what
your views are; for concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.”
