As the name of your sister Sodom was not heard from your lips in your day of pride,

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged.

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned;

pardon, and you will be pardoned.

Therefore you have no excuse,

everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

Bear thine

in order that you may bear your humiliation and feel ashamed for all that you have done when you become a consolation to them.

Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you have endured the insults of the nations.’

They will

forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they perpetrated against Me, when they live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid.

And they shall not come near to Me to serve as a priest to Me, nor come near to any of My holy things, to the things that are most holy; but they will bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed.

I will put an everlasting reproach on you and an everlasting humiliation which will not be forgotten.”

‘For after I turned back, I repented;
And after I was instructed, I smote on my thigh;
I was ashamed and also humiliated
Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’

We are ashamed because we have heard reproach;

Disgrace has covered our faces,
For aliens have entered
The holy places of the Lord’s house.

The thing itself will be carried to Assyria
As tribute to

King Jareb;

Ephraim will be seized with shame
And Israel will be ashamed of its own counsel.

and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Therefore what

benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.

Judah recognized them, and said, “She is more righteous than I, inasmuch as I did not give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not have relations with her again.

He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have dealt well with me, while I have dealt wickedly with you.

The Lord will return his blood on his own head, because he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he and killed them with the sword, while my father David did not know it: Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.
