I wrought

and I acted for the sake of my name, [that it] not be profaned before the eyes of the nations {before whom I brought them out}.

And I was concerned for {my holy name}, which, the house [of] Israel defiled among the nations {to which they went}.

And {my holy name} I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not let the name of my holiness be profaned anymore, and the nations will know that I [am] Yahweh, [the] holy [one] in Israel.

Why should [the] Egyptians {say}, 'With evil [intent] he brought them out to kill them in the mountains and wipe them from the face of the earth'? Turn from {your fierce anger} and relent concerning the disaster for your people.

And Moses said to Yahweh, "Then the Egyptians will hear that you brought up this people from their midst in your power,

lest [the people of] the land from which you brought us out from there say, "Because Yahweh was not able to bring them to the land that he {promised} to them and because of his hatred [toward] them, he has brought them out to kill them in the desert."

I thought, "I will wipe them out; {I will make people forget they ever existed}."

The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear [of this], and they will surround us and cut off our name from the land. What will you do, for your great name?"

For Yahweh will not forsake his people for the sake of his great name, because Yahweh has decided to make you his [own] people.

Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These [are] the [same] gods who struck the Egyptians with all [sorts of] plagues in the desert.
