But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
told the exiles all the things that the Lord had shown me.
On that day your
mouth will be opened to him who escaped, and you will speak and be mute no longer. Thus you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord.’”
“On that day I will make a
horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth in their midst. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
Behold, you are to them like a sensual song by one who has a
beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument; for they hear your words but they do not practice them.
The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or
who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.
pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
Go to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or not, ‘Thus says the Lord God.’”
As for them,
whether they listen or not—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
He who has ears, let him hear.”
And he *said to me, “
Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.
emery harder than flint I have made your forehead. Do not be afraid of them or be dismayed before them, though they are a rebellious house.”
“Son of man, you live in the
midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
