For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
seven years of great abundance are coming in all the land of Egypt;
When that year was ended, they came to him the
next year and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord that our money is all spent, and the cattle are my lord’s. There is nothing left for my lord except our bodies and our lands.
Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have today bought you and your land for Pharaoh; now, here is seed for you, and you may sow the land.
“You shall work
six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest.
and the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which has not been plowed or sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
1 Samuel 8:12
He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.
Also the oxen and the donkeys which work the ground will eat salted fodder, which
has been winnowed with shovel and fork.
