Hebrews 13:2

Concluding Ethical Instructions

¹ Continue to love [one another] as brothers. ² Do not forget to show hospitality toward strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angels without realizing it. ³ Remember [to pray for and help] those who are in prison, as though you [yourselves] were in prison with them. [Remember] those who are being mistreated, realizing that you [yourselves] also share [with them] a physical body [i.e., you are subject to the same kind of trials].

Matthew 25:35

for [when] I was hungry, you fed me; [when] I was thirsty, you gave me [something] to drink; [when] I came [to you as] a stranger, you gave me a place to stay;

having a reputation for doing good deeds, [such as] bringing up children, showing hospitality to strangers, washing the feet of the saints [i.e., God's holy people], assisting people in trouble and devoting herself to doing all [other] kinds of good deeds.

Titus 1:8

[He must be] hospitable, someone who loves what is good, sensible, upright, devout and self-controlled.
