Hebrews 3:11

A Serious Warning Against Unbelief

¹⁰ "Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said, 'Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known my ways.' ¹¹ "As I swore in my anger, 'They will never enter my rest!'" ¹² See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has an evil, unbelieving heart that forsakes the living God.

Enter My Rest

Made a Vow

Hebrews 4:3

For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, "As I swore in my anger, 'They will never enter my rest!'" And yet God's works were accomplished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:5

but to repeat the text cited earlier: "They will never enter my rest!"

Numbers 14:20-23

Then the Lord said, "I have forgiven them as you asked.

Numbers 14:27-30

"How long must I bear with this evil congregation that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

Numbers 14:35

I, the Lord, have said, "I will surely do so to all this evil congregation that has gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be finished, and there they will die!"'"

So the anger of the Lord was kindled that day, and he swore,

When the Lord heard you, he became angry and made this vow:

Now the length of time it took for us to go from Kadesh Barnea to the crossing of Wadi Zered was thirty-eight years, time for all the military men of that generation to die, just as the Lord had vowed to them.

Hebrews 3:18-19

And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?
