1 For every high priest, taken from among men, is appointed in behalf of men in the things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2 able to bear with the ignorant and erring, since he himself also is encompassed with infirmity; 3 and, on account of it, he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to make offering for sins.
