Isaiah 49:17-23

“Your ^(a)builders hurry;
Your ^(A)destroyers and devastators
Will depart from you.

“^(B)Lift up your eyes and look around;
^(C)All of them gather together, ^(D)they come to you.
^(E)As I live,” declares the Lord,
“You will surely ^(F)put on all of them as ^(b)jewels and bind them on as a bride.

“For ^(G)your waste and desolate places and your destroyed land—
Surely now you will be ^(H)too cramped for the inhabitants,
And those who ^(I)swallowed you will be far away.

“The ^(J)children of ^(c)whom you were bereaved will yet say in your ears,
‘The place is too cramped for me;
Make room for me that I may live here.’

“Then you will ^(K)say in your heart,
‘Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And am ^(L)barren, an ^(M)exile and a wanderer?
And who has reared these?
Behold, I was ^(N)left alone;
^(d)^(O)From where did these come?’”

22} Thus says the Lord ^(e)God,

“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations
And set up My ^(P)standard to the peoples;
And they will ^(Q)bring your sons in their bosom,
And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.

“^(R)Kings will be your guardians,
And their princesses your nurses.
They will ^(S)bow down to you with their faces to the earth
And ^(T)lick the dust of your feet;
And you will ^(U)know that I am the Lord;
Those who hopefully ^(V)wait for Me will ^(W)not be put to shame.
