1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
1 For this is what the LORD says: "Maintain justice, and do what is right, for soon my salvation will come, and soon my deliverance will be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
2 Blessed is the one who does this, and the person that holds it fast, who observes the Sabbath without profaning it, and restrains his hands from practicing any evil.
2 “Blessed (happy, fortunate) is the man who does this,And the son of man who takes hold of it,Who keeps the Sabbath without profaning it,And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
3 "Let no foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say: "The LORD will surely exclude me from his people.' Furthermore, let no eunuch say, "Look! I am just a dry tree.'"
3 Do not let the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say,“The Lord will most certainly separate me from His people.”And do not let the eunuch say, “Look, I am a dry tree.”
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
4 For the Lord says this:“For the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths,and choose what pleases Me,and hold firmly to My covenant,
4 For this is what the LORD says: "To the eunuchs who observe my Sabbaths, who choose the things that please me, and who hold fast my covenant
4 This is what the Lord says,“To the eunuchs who keep My SabbathsAnd choose what pleases Me,And hold firmly to My covenant,
5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
5 to them I will give in my house and within my walls a monument and a name better than sons and daughters. I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.
5 To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial,And a name better than that of sons and daughters;I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.
6 “Also the (N)foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,To minister to Him, and to love the name of the Lord,To be His servants, every one who (O)keeps from profaning the sabbathAnd holds fast My covenant;
6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
6 And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lordminister to Him, love the name of Yahwehand become His servants,all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating itand who hold firmly to My covenant—
6 "Also, the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, and to bless the LORD'S name, observing the Sabbath without profaning it, and who hold fast my covenant
6 “Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,To minister to Him, and to love the name of the Lord,To be His servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath without profaning itAnd holds fast to My covenant [by conscientious obedience];
7 Even (P)those I will bring to My (Q)holy mountainAnd (R)make them joyful in My house of prayer.Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on (S)My altar;For (T)My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”
7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
7 I will bring them to My holy mountain(G)and let them rejoice in My house of prayer.Their burnt offerings and sacrificeswill be acceptable on My altar,(H)for My house will be called a house of prayerfor all nations.”(I)
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will rise up to be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for everyone."
8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
8 This is what the Lord GOD says, the one who gathers the outcasts of Israel: "I'll gather still others to them besides those already gathered.
8 The Lord God, who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares:“I will gather yet others to them (Israel), to those [already] gathered.”
9 All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
9 All you animals of the field and forest,come and eat!
9 "All you wild animals, come and devour even all of you wild animals.
9 All you beasts of the field,All you beasts (hostile nations) in the forest,Come to eat.
10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
10 His watchmen are blind; they are all without knowledge. They are all dumb dogs they cannot bark. They keep on dreaming and lying around, and they're lovers of sleep!
10 Israel’s watchmen are blind,They are all without knowledge.They are all mute dogs, they cannot bark;Panting, lying down, they love to slumber.
11 And the dogs are (e)(Z)greedy, they (f)are not satisfied.And they are shepherds who have (AA)no understanding;They have all (AB)turned to their own way,Each one to his unjust gain, to the last one.
11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
11 Meanwhile, the dogs have a mighty appetite they can never get enough. And as for them, they are the shepherds who lack understanding; they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, each and every one.
12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
12 ""Come!' they say, "let's have some wine, and let's fill ourselves with strong drink! Then, tomorrow will be like today, or even much better!'"
12 “Come,” [they say,] “let us get wine, and let us fill ourselves with strong drink;And tomorrow will be like today, very great indeed.”
