Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORDrestores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

Oh, save your people and bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever.

For God will save Zion and build up the cities of Judah, and people shall dwell there and possess it;

Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the LORD their God. I will not save them by bow or by sword or by war or by horses or by horsemen."

Remnant

Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

If the LORD of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we should have been like Sodom, and become like Gomorrah.

In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.

It may be that the LORD your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the LORD your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.'"

Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved,

So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.
