2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.
2 "Dominion and fear belong to God; who fashions peace in his high heaven.
2 “Dominion and awe belong to God;He establishes peace and order in His high places.
3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?
3 Can His troops be numbered?Does His light not shine on everyone?
3 Is there any limit to his armies? On whom does his light not shine?
3 “Is there any number to His [vast celestial] armies? And upon whom does His light not rise?
4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
4 How can a human being become right with God? How can a human being be pure?
5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
5 Behold, even the moon isn't bright, and the stars aren't pure in his eyes.
5 “Behold, even the moon has no brightness [compared to God’s majesty and glory]And the stars are not pure in His sight,

6 How much less is man, who is only a maggot, or a man's children, who are only worms!"
6 How much less man, that maggot,And the son of man, that worm!”
