The Prologue To John's Gospel

³ By Him were all things made, and without Him was not any one thing made that was made. ⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness attained it not.

For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given also to the Son to have life in Himself.
