The Prologue To John's Gospel

⁶ There arose a man, sent from God, whose name was, John: ⁷ The same, came, for a witness, That he might bear witness, concerning the light, that, all, might believe, through him. ⁸ He, was not the light, - but, that he might bear witness concerning the light,

John 1:19

And, this, is the witness of John, when the Jews sent forth unto him, out of Jerusalem, priests and Levites, - that they might question him - Who art, thou?

Acts 19:4

Then said Paul - John, immersed with an immersion of repentance, unto the people, saying, that, on him who was coming after him, they should believe, - that is, on Jesus.

John 1:9
