John 11:3

his two sisters therefore sent this message to Jesus; he, Lord, whom you love, is sick.

now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

upon which the Jews said, see how he loved him.

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, who was of Bethany, the town of Mary, and of Martha her sister.

thus he entertain'd them: and after that, he said to them, our friend Lazarus is asleep; but I am going to awake him.

now the favourite disciple of Jesus sat next to him at table.

for he long'd to see you all, and was greatly concern'd, that you should hear he was sick. and indeed he was sick almost unto death:

Erastus staid at Corinth: but Trophimus I left sick at Miletum.

for whom the Lord loveth, he chastises, and scourgeth every son whom he receives."

Is any of you sick? let him send for the pastors of the church, to pray for him, and after giving him the unction, in the name of the Lord,

as many as I love, I rebuke and chastise: be warm therefore with zeal, and repent.
