29 A bowl full of sour wine was sitting there. So they put a sponge soaked in sour wine on a stick and put it to His lips. 30 As soon as Jesus took the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. 31 As it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, that the bodies might not remain on the crosses during the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was a very important one, the Jews requested Pilate to have their legs broken and their bodies taken down.
