Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
So when the chief priests and the
officers saw Him, they cried out saying, “Crucify, crucify!” Pilate *said to them, “Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him.”
Pilate *said to Him, “What is truth?”And when he had said this, he
went out again to the Jews and *said to them, “ I find no guilt in Him.
saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us?
See to that yourself!”
And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving
what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
He made Him who
knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
For it was fitting for us to have such a
high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens;

Pilate summoned the chief priests and the
rulers and the people,
And though they found no ground for putting Him to death, they
asked Pilate that He be executed.
